Hello from SA,TX.
I built my 1st pond (small about 1 acre) in '72. Built it twice as the 1st operator didn't know what he was doing and had to have a 2nd come in and knock the dam down and put in a good core. Sold the place a few years after that and been without ever since. Plan to change that. So much knowledge here and more interesting that reading county ag books.

Welcome Charlie and I do believe that is an incredible understatement there. grin

So what's the plan? One thing is certain, you have found this site at the right time...before you build or buy your next pond.

Well I'm confined space wise and will only have room for a one acre pond. The land slope is less then 2% with little water shed. Looking into a dugout with berm on all sides with well as water source. The clay content is very good. BG and LMB recreational fishing.

First of all allow another nubie to welcome you on board Charlie. If ponds are a passion of yours, then you've found a home here. I sit in awe of the knowledge to be gleaned off of the fine folks that make up this family. After finding this site I spend way too much time reading and learning than I really should, but there is just so much good advice here, it's hard to walk away. And I'm sure that you'll find, as I did, that better, more friendly bunch of folks aren't any where else on the web. Good luck on your new project.
