I was drafted into the US Navy in 1969. In October 1969, CNO Admiral Zumwalt declared we could have beards and beer so we could better enjoy Viet Nam! I've had a beard ever since -- almost. I've drunk a few beers since then, too.
When I started to grow my beard in October 1969, a old crusty WWII Navy Chief told me that if I stuck out my tongue, I'd look just like a hemorrhoid!
Oh well. What can I say?
Since October 1969, I've only been without my beard for about three months. That was in 1971 when I was working aboard a ship in Pearl Harbor where they were daily spraying the bulkheads and air ducts, in the spaces I was working in, with liquidized asbestos. The asbestos was so hard to get out of my beard each evening, I decided to shave it off. Ken, that's funny. I was on my ship from 10/68 - 10/69 and we had to put in a "chit" (request) to grow a beard. I did, and was rejected!! I've had some form of one ever since I got out in '70. "Rejected" what a load of crap...........
Just do it...

Any of you that fished at the spillway probably noticed the multitude of local anglers fishing off the bridge. Now I've got this picture stuck in my head of them slinging hooks at Sunil as his boat floated down the river, trying to make him the catch of the day.

If Sunil had hooked that 50 lb flathead it would have pulled him over the spillway. You bet the guys on the bridge would have had a good laugh !!

I believe we were told that 7,000 gpm flows over the spillway. I need about 2 hours of that in Texas.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
