Yeah I think the crossover pipe was set too high as well. With the old stand pipe I could have the water level higher because regardless the water would fill the pipe at that level. With the siphon, the pipe is placed the other way and depending on the size of the pipe, you have to account for the pipe diameter. So in my case when they went to lay the pipe we realized that in order to have the same water level I'd have to have 10" above the lowest part of the pipe. This already was higher than the spillway. I compromised and went about 5 inches lower in pond level. Any more and muck would have been showing on the banks. I just dont have the freeboard.
