All hail the awesome Smallmouth!!!

I don't blame her. If I knew that I wouldn't catch anything..................

We went for a trip to beautiful Glazener Pond today, and Nicky did what she always does. She out fished us.

Very healthy HSB

Shhh, we were culling LMB and she didn't know. whistle

Actually, we caught around 8 runt LMB that needed to go. Nicky loves her fish, so discretion was the rule of the day.

Went yesterday, took a 1/16 oz white jig head w/white tube body and a barbless hook.... skunked. But had my knee scoped late last week and it beat sitting in the house on a beautiful sunny day!

My momma never accused me of being to smart....

Al and I were on a mission to take out as many male Florida LMB as we could but caught mostly females - rattle traps and crank baits not nearly effctive as Al's shock boat...
Want to get best Camelot Bell LMB spawn as possible.
They do have "catchability" genes - three caught and released since stocked.

Al and my "adult superisors" don't like watching us killin' fish...they are not happy with us... grin

The last two months of crazy weather has made the fishing tough. This is the first decent fish in weeks.

OK, back to my HSB AND OTS CNBG....
Yesterday hit our pond for first fun fishin' since January and thought we would try somethng different - real flies....
One chewed up from OTS CNBG and HSB - new one for comparison...

Caught dozens or so of immature males and females - culled 5-8 inchers - never broke 10 inches tho - big boys must have lovin' on their minds... grin

The rest of the story - who woulda thunk HSB would jump all over those buggy little flies?

Not so sure Al. She might have just let him hold it for a picture.

She is your better half George ! Just noticed the Texas coin in the pic - nice touch there! smile

You sure you did not pump-up those HSB with the portable O2 revival unit just before the pic - they sure are fat. grin

For my 2 cents - I still like that OTS CNBG best of all !! cool

Me too - PERFECT CONFIRMATION!
Less than one year old and close to 9 inches!
Likely brothers and sisters of Allens and Brians OTS CNBG stockers if early/late spawners..

2 feeders dead, and I wasn't happy so I decided to fish a little. Tried out my new fly rod, and caught a bunch of these.

Measuring from the Dr Slicks, I think the top one's about 9", and very thick. The bottom one's a little bigger, but thinner.

Oh, I ordered another Texas Hunter. I was stupid for cheaping my fish.

Dustin, yes finally. I've just been hand throwing food until they started back feeding. That's how I know my feeders were hosed. Water was 66 today, so it's about time.

Robbie caught one runt today. She's not patient enough with a fly rod.
