Grundulis Joined: May 2011 Posts: 344 Latvia, Europe	At first you should find out what caused that. Maybe your pond is brand new and muddy after digging works. Maybe it's caused by rain water. Maybe some fish did that. I doubt that it's smart to add any chemicals without idea why your pond is the way it is.

Some turbidity is good because it is natural shading to deter plants in deeper water. Planktonic algae, silt and suspended detitus can serve to reduce light penetration. Pond dye also is used in clear water to reduce sunlight penetration.
