Last week my pond finally filled up to the point where water was flowing out of the overflow for the first time since it was dug. It was a slow flow with only about 1/4" of water over the pipe.

Yesterday we recieved 5+ " of rain in 24 hours and I finally got to see my standpipe in action. I think the design worked as expected and the anti vortex plate worked great.

I am using a 24" long 8" diameter riser to load a 6" pipe (all PVC). At the point the video was taken, the water was 2" over the riser and the discharge pipe was loaded about 90%.
