What would you think of a person who knows every variety of rose...

...a person who dreams about bioengineering new types of roses...

...a person who gives regular interviews on radio and television about roses...

..a person who attends conferences about roses....

...a person who knows the molecular structure of the chemical given out by roses to attract pollinators...

...but who never, ever stops and takes a moment to smell a rose?

That's me.

Care to give me some words of wisdom why i need to get act together before it's too late.

Just look at this photo. This is what we do.

Amazing.

Roses, Lilies or bullfrogs?

Neat picture!

If you don't stop to smell the roses, how do you know if they are what you envisioned?

Was that picture real or was it created? Very neat picture either way. One can enjoy the roses without smelling them. Some may even find the fragrance not that appealing.

I don't know the origin of the picture, Bill. Somebody "shared" it on my Facebook page and I fell in love with it.

Metaphorically speaking, I refuse to take a moment and just enjoy all the wonderment of pond bossing. I've definitely got a problem.

I know a proctologist that feels the same way. Let it go.

Is the proctologist also a metaphor? Or do you really know a proctologist?

...and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.

So what your saying is its time to invite a few friends over, catch a few fish using grasshoppers for bait, kick back on the dock and relax....I'm game....then when we finally do come home we will need to bring our wives a dozen roses....

See...this just proves that you get exactly what I'm saying. I like this grasshopper part. Time to simplify! I'm in an ever-increasing world of stress. I work more and more and more....and more..........

You need to fish more Bruce. Take a break from trying to improve the fish, and let the fish improve you for awhile.

Your lake locked up tight enough yet? wink

Actually n8ly, some of the very best times I've had in the last four years were spent with you and your family. You have a way of distilling the experience down to it's core. Food, fun, fellowship...throw in a little ChefTodd and you've got all it takes.

I haven't had dinner yet, and I would eat that whole dozen right now!

Excerpt from Robert Crais' "The Monkey's Raincoat:"
"She took another microscopic bite of her sandwich, then pushed it away. Maybe she absorbed nutrients from her surroundings."
