I’m not sure, either that was a compliment for being a nice guy or I was insulted. My assumption is that I have nice fish.

While looking up the meaning of "Lepomis" on Wikipedia ran into this picture of a cousin to our lowly bluegill. This fish has a somewhat similar red ring around the eye.
