Action picked up today and last night with the immature bucks.. Been in the rain most of the day going on 3rd day of no deer in shooting range starting to get really aggrevating.. Best chasing action I've seen so far was 2 small bucks last night one actually laid down and waited for a small doe while it ate.. I'm still thinking the weekend will be te best but it'll be good for you Greg with big buck movement for sure around that time..

Button buck down tonight.. Actually thought it was a doe but it came in then circled out.. Kinda took a long shot maybe 45-47 yards and quartering away.. Aimed kinda back and I'm thinking it was to far back and not necessary I seen him run 40 yards lay down then try to get up and walk off with his buddies but had to lay back down, watched him for about 30 mins he still was holding his head up so I left him lay get him in the morning hopefully the coyotes don't first..

I had a busted rack basket 6 point aggressively chasing a doe this afternoon. He was grunting away as he chased her. That was around 3:30 this afternoon, then around 4:15 this chubby fellow came out into my food plot and starting grazing the wheat and oats like a cow! HAHA

When I checked my game cameras up there today I found the strap to one around the tree with the camera lying 20 feet away on the ground with teeth marks in it. Apparently the bear liked the taste of it...

Here's the last pics the camera took, the pics prove it was a bear. HAHA

He came back later that day to chew on the camera some more... Bears are a PITA!

BGK you find your kill? The old saying comes to mind shooting tomorrow trophies today. Just giving you a hard time on the button. Rather see a button get killed than an decent two yr old buck. That is if you care for quality bucks.

Button bucks I shoot small racks I don't I've passed on alot of small racks this year I quess it's a psycholigical when there buttons it's easier to not see potential even though the button I just hit would have prolly Been a new world record with my luck..

Got some seat time in the stand yesterday morning - had a small 6 point come crusing through right at daybreak but that was all. They're shut down a bit around here, likely because of the warm temps. Supposed to be 65 here on Saturday but the bottom falls back out on Monday - I'll be on-stand all day celebrating Veteran's day.

A buddy and I are heading to my place this evening to hunt tomorrow with NO KIDS AROUND.

The bucks are ready but the does don't seem to be.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

This is really common around Central IL for sure - I haven't felt comfortable letting one 'bleed out' overnight in years. Too many guys around here end up finding feet and ears the next morning. A coyote pack can make short work of a deer carcass in the timber where nothing will interrupt them.

Just out of pure curosity as I know nothing about the limits, tags, etc. in Bond and Fayette County, but do you have to use one of your tags in this case, not sure if tags are even needed, if they cost anything, and whether they are in limited supply!

Hate to hear that about the small buck. Don't think I would sleep too well after that.

"Forget pounds and ounces, I'm figuring displacement!"

If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1)
And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1)
Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT?
PB answer: It depends.

Bing that is a good question I don't have an answer too.. Your allowed 2 buck tags either one gun one bow or just 2 bow which I get. Doe tags I believe are 10 tag limit, you can tag a button buck as a doe.. I didn't tag the mauled button..

I really hate to lose a deer especially this way.. I found myself trigger shy tonight on a 40 yard doe because of last night..

Last year I lost a huge 8 pointer not letting him sit long enough so I've been reluctant every scince to dive in without adequate sit time

BGKiller,
that is a new property just this year, but not the one I wrote about...its a 194 acre farm along the spoon river in Fulton County. I wanted to buy this particular farm 4 years ago when it went for sale for $3500 per acre and ended up waiting it out and just bought it for $1200 per acre about 2 months ago...

BGK -- I know what I would have done, just sayin' if i only had one tag I'd still be in that stand hoping for another shot.
