hi, im looking to build my own aeration system, the size of the pond i have is about 2 surface acres, average depth of about 6-7 feet, damn depth of 16 feet, the pond is about 55 years old, i was told the pond is fed by 2 underground springs but im not real positive about that.my question is what is a good source for parts?air compressor, manifold, tubing,diffusers,etc..i think i would like to go with a gast rotary vane comressor 1/2 to 3/4 hp. what model number should i look for when searching? or would i be better off just buying a complete system??? i dont mind building it myself but i need a list of what i need to get, thanks for any help i might get...........rob

Rob,
Not sure what there is to build after you buy the compressor. After that all there are, are airlines and diffusers either the stones or membrane type and that's it.
One thing you will find with complete system packages is the prices vary a lot. It's also good to go with someone that sells the complete system as they can advise you of the size compressor, number of diffusers and airlines for you size pond etc.
I would go with an outfit called Stoney Creek in Grant Michigan if you are in the midwest. Bill Cody in Malinta, Ohio that contributes a lot on this site can set you up too.
If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

I sell in that area and carry the Vertex Water Features aeration system. You can look them up or there is a link on my site. They have a great formula based on average depth, max depth, shoreline feet, surface acres, etc. to tell you exactly which system to buy or you can order just the components. thanks http://www.lakework.com/
