These are the kind of bluegill we're pulling out.....If you can't tell, I have fat hands. These are the Largemouth... Northwest Ohio is putting out some nice fishies....LOL

Hybrid Bluegills. Nice looking fish!
If you are releasing the LMB, it's much better to support the other end of the fish with your other hand. It's easy to break the LMB's jaw holding them that way. It doesn't matter if they are not going to be released.

If the only type of sunfish-bluegill that are in the pond are like the one in the picture, it is likely the LMB population will overall gradually decrease in numbers and average size due to lack of adequate forage. As mentioned the bgill in the picture looks a lot like a hybrid bluegill which produce few young ones and low amounts of bass food. The larger bass could be eating smaller bass. When those bigger old bass die of old age the fishery may dramatically change.
