Rex came through in a big way today as follows:

Sure his truck got stuck, and we were unsuccessful trying to pull him out with my Volvo. Not sure if he's still there or not as I had to leave for my nephew's birthday party.

Those are beauties!! Don't worry about Rex, but I would run up to the pond
next weekend to make sure he got out ok.

I got about 25-30 of those larger smallies, and a 100 or so of some 5" smallies. Then, about 30 or so HSB in the 10-12" range and shiners to top it off.

Sunil, why are you dressed like it's 20 below, and Rex looks like it's 40 above?

Beautiful fish!!

I think Rex is cold blooded or something like that!

BTW, to ewest's question, yes, the snow was unfortunate, and we were pushing the envelope for late-year stocking.

My water temps were approx. 42, and Rex's tanks were at 48/49, so we spent a lot of time acclimating.

Keeping my fingers crossed until spring!!

Those SMB should be trophy sized in short order! I hope they all survive and thrive. I priced some around that size. The budget could only afford one so I went for YOY.

Congratulations!!

So let me get this straight. Rex braves Snowtober to bring you beautiful looking fish and BAM you leave him stranded in the snow at your pond?

Although I normally I would not align myself with Rex due to his unreasonable, unprovoked, unsympathetic, unabashed, unacademic, unacceptable, unaudited, unbalanced and uncomplimentary attitude toward GSF, however leaving him at the pond in the snow? This borders on cruel and, yes people, unusual behavior.

I was only supposed to be there for about 1.5 hours. I brought a six pack for myself, my neighbor who came to help, and Rex. My neighbor abstained, but my caretaker, Ken, showed up.

We were meeting Rex at 9AM, so a case of beer was not deemed appropriate. Live and learn....

I only had one beer...Getting stuck wasn't expected, but I had an hour to make sure I was legal to drive...ABLE to drive though is an entirely subjective statement however it's worded...

In all honesty, I was a little scared of Sunil when he saw his new smallies...I didn't want someone catching a pic of a terrorist look-alike trying to hug and kiss me.....Freak!

New tires will be put on this winter...If I get stuck again, it'll take a LOT more than $350 to get me out!!!

I thought a big winch that was able to be mounted either fore or aft depending on which end was closest to the good road was a good idea.

I haven't messed with chains much. Can they be put on once you're stuck?

Those are some huge stocker SMB. Nice! It was a snowy mess this past weekend... I got my truck stuck up on our land in PA while hunting. It was a long walk back to the cabin.
