Has any one used that floating fertilizer box they show in the magazine?
How is it compared to the bags of fert. I use now? And how much is it?

I have been using Southern Excellence fertilizer this year with great results. I pay $29 for a bucket at a local feed dealer. One bucket fertilizes 1 to 5 acres. It really is easy to use.

Mr. Ingram:

Hey, Hoosier!

We're getting some upbeat reports on the Southern Excellence fertilizer in a box. Give us a little more info on your experience.

Did you get a good plankton bloom?

How long did it take before you could see noticeable results in the water
color?

Your fish happier now?

How large is your pond? Species of fish? What are your goals for the pond?

Stand up and testify, brutha!

Thanks,

Mark McDonald

Hi Mark,

I am 42 and have always wanted a pond of my own. Last summer I was able to construct a 12 acre lake about 150 yards from my front door! I live on a 70 acre farm, so the setting is perfect. I love to fish, so my goal is for great fishing. My dad loves to ice fish so a good panfish pop. is important to me. Huge bass are great too! I stocked bass, bluegill, yellow perch, redears, and channel cat along with lots of fatheads and shiners.
I started with the Southern Excellence fertilizer when the water temp hit 55 this spring. I used 3 buckets at first then 2 approx. every 30 days. This has maintained a good bloom for my pond. The stuff is easy to use and I replace the buckets about a week after they are empty. They last about 30 days. I am sure it helps the fish pop. as I have lots of shiner and bluegill fry that are doing well. The bass are chasing them with gusto! Thanks for asking.

Sounds as though you're doing a lot of things right. Stay the course.

CT,

Montpelier is 25 miles north of Muncie.Osborn Feed is in Montpelier and the number is 765 728 2222. I am going to add two more buckets and be done fertilizing for the year. The program seems to be working. I stocked the first of april with 1-2 inch fish. Saturday I used a barbless hook and caught a 6 inch bluegill,11.5 inch channel,7 inch perch and a 7.5 inch bass. All looked very healthy!
