Ted, I am anything but an expert yet I'll throw in my two cents worth. I would be very careful with the channel cats. In my pond the previous owner stocked CC, hybrid bluegills and LMB. He never harvested but fed (the CC) continuously. I now have a 2 1/2 acre pond swarming with monster cats that are hook shy and ravinous for the fry of any other species. I have seen them chase small green sunfish out of the water. There are numerous threads regarding pond owners' attempts to eliminate or reduce their over population of cats. I would wait until the other species are abundant, or at least go with fewer numbers of smaller cats.

As far as the CC I was thinking of putting in maybe 20 or so and harvesting when eating size. The feeding part would be to try to keep them away from eating the prey species. The bass are bad enough the way they patrol the shore line, I have a hard time seeing much of anything survive when I add more prey.
