I'm finding that my fish are eating so many pellets that when I catch some of them, they are upchucking the pellets. If you are squeamish -- don't proceed beyond this point! Here is a picture of a 10-11 inch bluegill I caught on Saturday. You can see what I'm talking about by looking at the gill cover and pectoral fin. It's mouth and gills were filled with semi-digested pellets. This was the third fish I've caught recently that spit up digested pellets when I pulled them out of the water. One was about a 20-inch catfish with a distended belly that really released a bunch of semi-digested pellets. The other was a bluegill about this same size. I caught the one in the picture in the afternoon. They hadn't been fed since early in the morning. Am I over feeding them? Anybody else experiencing this? Maybe I can make fish foie gras.

You are not overfeeding them. That is a normal stress reaction. Quite ruining their dinner !!!

Yep. My HBG do that almost every time.

If we accept that: MBG(+)FGSF(=)HBG(F1) And we surmise that: BG(>)HBG(F1) while GSF(<)HBG(F1) Would it hold true that: HBG(F1)(+)AM500(x)q.d.(=)1.5lbGRWT? PB answer: It depends.

Quit squeezing them so hard! You'd probably puke too if someone picked you up with a thumb over your tummy right after Thanksgiving dinner.

Quit squeezing them so hard! You'd probably puke too if someone picked you up with a thumb over your tummy right after Thanksgiving dinner. Remember that old STP (I think) commercial, where they dipped the blade of a screwdriver into the STP, then someone tried to hold it by the blade without dropping it? When HBG get as big as mine are, you gotta' hold em' tight, otherwise the effect of fish slime, combined with the pull of gravity acting upon such a dense, huge, mass will suck the fish right to the grass................... It's all about the gravity.................

You're right, it was a screwdriver.
Heck, they're getting big enough to start lipping them like a LMB!

Ken, did you cook up the pellets? If so, I can understand the upchucking.
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
