Back in the 1940's while on vacation Dad caught a 25 1/4" long LMB in the backwaters of Lake Webster, IN that held the record for the upper half of Indiana. Sometime in the 60's at the local sports center in east central Indiana a bass, mounted and displayed and from a local pond was 23 inches long and weighed over 8 lbs. It was much fatter then Dads that was mounted and I could compare their looks. At that time I was surprised to learn that a much shorter bass could weigh more then a longer bass.
