How are these higher fuel prices affecting the cost of building a pond. We were ready to start the project but diesel just hit $4 a gallon and now we are not sure anymore if this is a good time.

It is a good time to build a pond because you are ready.
If you put off your pond building because of the price of fuel you may never get it built.

Don`t feel so bad its $4.56 a gallon here right now and no sign of it dropping. In the overall sceme of things the fuel price change during construction won`t cost you that much more over the long term of owning the pond. A year waiting is one more year lost and fuel could be 5 bucks next year.

I wouldn't postpone a project of this magnitude just to try and save a whopping $50.00-100.00 bucks.

I recall a number of years ago my next door neighbor laughed at me when I told him gasolene would hit $1.00. Hold on to your hats guys - we are in for a ride! I could explain this but some would call it political - I call it reality.
Just blame it on the mean old oil companies and the problem will go away - ignorance is bliss.
