My brother has a bout a 3 acre lake and it has been stocked with cnbg, resf, floridas, and cc. It has been stocked for 5 years and there are not nearly enough people to fish enough of them out per year. Then last spring my brother decides to put 400 black sac-au-lait in there, against all information presented to him he new better. We can get out enough bass, I think? The bream and Sac-au-lait I know there is no way we can "fish" out with the few family members fishing there. What is a good way to get some of these out of the pond, like a trap or something. I am going to try cast netting off the pier and see what I can catch. Since the pond is in MS and we live in LA we only make it up there on weekends and not even all weekends. Its deer season now so I dont miss any weekends and if there was a trap I could use to catch bream and sac-au-lait I would try it. Any other ideas? thanks travis

Florida strain bass are much more difficult to catch than thier norther strain cousins.
If the pond is only 5 years old, it is still young enough to be managed and is unlikely to be far out of balance.
I know nothing about sac-au-lait, so I have no idea what impact that species will have on balance.

Have a lot of friends (church group , scouts etc) help you remove every crappie you can catch. Other than that or other removal processes (electro fishing , nets ) not much you can do unless you want to rotenone.

Consider fyke netting in a pond that size... Chris Steelman had a great post about all the GSF he caught with one. In the spring when crappies are shallower, they are very vulnerable to that method. In the summer, small bass and sunfish can be caught in large numbers in it as well. It is a bit on the pricey side, but it is a long term investment and an excellent management tool. You remove exactly the fish you want. No reliance on predatory fish which may decide they like to eat something else.
