Howdy, MC:

1) Any Purina dealer (example: Feed Mill) can get you Purina Game Fish Chow or their Aquamax series of pelleted fish foods. They may not carry them, but Purina dealers will order any Purina product for customers. There are other good brands of fish food available as well.

2) If your "green mossy grass" is the very fine matted stuff commonly known as "Pond Scum," it is probably filamentous algae. Look at the threads on FA here at the forum (mostly in the "Aquatic Vegetation" sections) to assist your plant identification and give you some ideas on control options.

If it is FA, White Amur ("Grass Carp") DO NOT do a good job of controlling it in the population densities anyone would want in a home pond. Tilapia, a tropical/semitropical fish, are the current FA control fish superstar. Unfortunately, PA is a little too far North for optimum FA control with Tilapia (IMHO). See discussions on Tilapia (add "Meadowlark" as an additional search selector).

3) What are your goals for the pond? (Under MY goals, you can't have "too many big bluegills"). Give some Bass & Bluegill sizes & relative conditions (or better yet, weights) and relative numbers (How many of each can you catch in hour? Do you know the stocking history, and if so, what went in when?) and the PondBoss Pro/Am Opinion Mill will provide more info.
