Greetings;
I'm having problems getting anything to root at a couple locations around my pond, which is resulting in erosion issues. The soil is predominantly clay and I don't live at the location to properly water and tend to new seed.
Short of hauling in alot of top-soil, does anybody know of anything that will root prolifically in clay and provide stabilization? I don't even mind planting weeds, I just need something I can plant, leave to nature and hold my soil in place. I need roots.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Joe, I had the same problem at my pond and the only way i solved it was to borrow a sod cutter. I cut sod from the field and had 2 of the local kids help me move sod for 2 days in a row. This was done 3-4 wks ago and so far its doing just fine. Just rake/hoe the wash out areas flat then drop sod on top. I went all the way around my pond from waters edge to about 5 ft up the bank.
