What effect do you think the low plankton levels had in the TShad failure? The reason I ask is we see TShad survival in hi water flow low pH lakes around here. Some have a normal alkalinity of 9 or lower (that results in not only low pH but also high pH daily swings).
Great pics. Any chance you could post a close-up of an entire CNBG. We could use it for our Forum id library.

Well, I think low plankton definitely would have an effect. But, I also see plankton feeders thriving in a lake without plankton. That suggests that either the feed, or byproducts of digested feed, or colonies of bacteria, or algae growing on plants...something of the sort give these fish an advantage they otherwise would not have. Still, with the rapid flow rate of sterile water, the main reason I haven't pushed the issue is because the conditions just aren't good for threadfin and as a consultant, I'm hesitant to do something like this twice...if the first time failed. If we had plankton to even a minor extent, I would try it again. The photos above are Richmond Mill bluegill. The one of me is from last October, the others of Bruce are from last weekend. Below are photos of Aaron Matos' bluegill in Phoenix, shot in February. And one, more....for JHAP's pleasure...

Trying to help with 7.5 Acres in the Chain of Lakes Illinois - - The fish would stay out of trouble if it could just keep its fool mouth shut. Turns out there is a lot I should be learning from the fish.

$600 each for a group of 4 and you can join in on the fun... That includes food, guide(s), all tackle to include fishing rods as you are not allowed to use your own unless it is a personal fly rod. http://www.kingfishersociety.com/packages_and_pricing.html Start saving now! Not many places you can catch fish like that...

Wow! I didn't realize until now that they dropped the prices to run a day-fishing special. I must say, that's a steal. There's several hotels ten minutes away. Put 4 people together and go do this deal. It has to be at least 4 people or even 6. No odd numbers, because they pay the guides. That $600 fee is bare bones for what they offer. If 5 people come, there will be three in a boat, with a guide. That's a little crowded.
Property manager Dave Buhler just looked over my shoulder and told me to add this, "Tell everyone this is our 'recession buster' offer and it won't last long."

I think if more than 4 go, the price goes down if I remember correctly... So round up a crowd and make it a trip! You could get lucky and catch a huge spotted sucker like Bruce did. That or a 2 pound plus CNBG!
