Just because you don’t see them feeding on the surface doesn’t men they are not eating.
Yesterday’s muddy water near surface temp was 57.1 degrees with ~25mph winds,
Very little surface activity but did well on sinking pellet flies,
We caught several HSB fat as footballs and a feed-trained LMB stocked last fall was 13 inches and weighed in at 1.25 lbs.
CNBG are beginning to plump out as well.

Don’t knock the AquaPro feeders either, because since they corrected the timer problems they have just kept on tickin’ for the past year.
I like the AP dense feed pattern for confined spots in the pond that is not suitable for the large sparse Texas Hunter feed pattern.

I love the Texas Hunter for it’s reliability and the larger feed pattern for open areas of pond.

Both the AP and TH feeders have their place in our ponds

Surface temps hit 60 here this week, george. I tried a little Aquamax 500 in both ponds Thursday afternoon, zilch. Tried it again last night and the LMB showed up at the big pond. I tossed in some 500/600 mixed, that some of the bass fed on as the wind blew it across the pond, and tossed in about a cup and a half of Largemouth pellets one at a time, which the real pellet pigs relished.

Life is good.

My YP and BG ate very well last night. Water temp 56, air temp 63, SW winds...feed YP about 1 lb...the water was roiling...they would have ate more, but didn't want to overfeed them so early, and also since I had Blue Heron and Canada Geese flying around. Everything from 4" to 12" was up and at it.

Forgot to add, using floating feed...

I fed a couple warm days in late Feb. Since March I have fed every day even days that only reach into the 40's. The fish swarm the dock every night even when I think it is to cold for them to eat. Their hunger seems to know no (temperature) limits. They eat about one third the summer amount. Feed trained bass also living up to their name.

Does the name Pavlov ring a bell?
