i read where some of you feed multiple times a day. my fish (bg) dont seem to eat well when the sun is bright. i have fed them when it was partly cloudy and notice they instantly stop eating when the sun pops out from behind the clouds. they eat really well late evening. my water is far from clear too.

do you all notice similar feeding activity?

Just like their natural feeding behavior, they definitely prefer early mornings and evenings. I rarely do any fishing, feeding or anything related to fish (or most animals for that matter)when the sun is high.

Same here. Not much action after noon-1PM CDT in summer.
I feed heavily at daylight, less amount somewhere between 9-10 am. Once more lightly 12-1pm. Then heavy feeding 1 hr. before sunset. Since BG have small mouth and stomach, best to feed multiple times and smaller amounts during the day.
They abandon the shallows during heat of day.
This time of year until surface temps get pretty hot, they should feed most any time of day if conditioned to do so.

Actually need to match prefered time. Try this..http://lakework.com/site/fish-feeding-programs.php
to summarizes these are my thoughts...THis time of year need to set hottest part of day (3-4 pm), as it warms add second feeding- mid morning. Good spring temp 4 times a day if you can afford the fed. Summer heat back to early and late only, fall like spring, winter hottest part of day until they play out. The duration of feeding is set so food is gone in 5-10 mins.
