This was taken by a friend-of-mine's student in Luck,Wisconsin. Amazing timing that the camera caught the deer right after being shot.

Cool thread! They had a show on Nat Geo I think it was about wild pigs becoming a HUGE problem in the south and leaking northward. Hunters can't keep up.

For all those fine pondmeisters that want to kill hogs..PLEASE come to Texas and fill your desires because you sure as heck don't want them in your neck of the woods! Just imagine a drunk on a back-hoe on your place digging holes every night..that is what the hogs will do

As a kid we raised hogs on our farm and I can only imagine the damage they could do in larger numbers, given free reign.

The gal I knew who's student "took" this photo said they were checking it out for legitimacy. She sent it to me shortly after the date on the camera time stamp.. Could be a fake like the "balloon boy" thing. Really cool if it's legit...du

CJ, that red-tail hawk pic is awesome. Sunil, that pic is still one of my dad and I's favorite and it was taken back in 2004 the first year we really got serious using game cameras. It is amazing all the animals that come in to clean up a gut pile! no chance that you might be able to see the light coming thru the trees...right thru it's back. hmmmmm...... Sometimes game camera photos on deer that are moving do look photoshopped but aren't... I have no idea if that photo of the buck being shot with an arrow is or isn't legit, but I have gotten photos that are almost holograms like that. With as many game cameras as there are out there these days and the number of guys who hunt near them, it's only a matter of odds before a shot like that would legitimately be taken. I'm still waiting to get a mountain lion, chupacabra, big foot, alien or other crypto animal or supposedly extirpated species on camera... HAHA

Hey Brettski, I didn't notice that until you pointed it out. Weird. Wonder why the bottom half of the deer looks normal? Could that be a refection of some kind? Or maybe a bad fake ? I'll get an update..du

Just got an e-mail from my friend in Luck, Wisconsin that has the high school student who shot the buck in the above photo. She said it was real, but the hunting magazine wouldn't published it because they couldn't verify authenticity.. That's all I know..du

The raindrop on the lens was in just the wrong spot! The time and date on the camera is wrong, and I can't read the display to change it. The deer walked by right around 7:30 p.m. Wed. Cecil, that was the evening that I brought the Bordello's home. That's the trail cam right by the back side of the pond.

I was out this evening and only saw a basket rack 6 point @ 60 Yds. I grunted and he jumped. I think he was whuuped on!
The back food plot had 1 scrape in it last week, now there are 6.

The rutt is definitely getting close! It is absolutely pouring here right now, but is supposed to clear out by noon. I am hoping to get out tomorrow evening... Haven't hunted nearly as much this year as I have in the past. Seeing lots of new rubs and scrapes... The peak of the chasing phase is gonna early next week I think.

We've got our special annual antlerless 2-day hunt this Friday and Saturday ( Hampshire County Antlerless Hunt ) I think the rut already started last weekend out our way. The deer were turned really skiddish. There were no new hoof prints down at the pond over the whole weekend.

I came down through Berkeley Springs and then through Winchester this past Saturday. I just bought a new truck and it is still in its 1000 mile break in period so I didn't want it on the interstates so I took the scenic route home... Probably drove right by your place! The deer were definitely out on Rt 522 and Rt 50...

Seems like the big ones are mostly nocturnal there as well! This picture was taken 4 days ago at 5:00 p.m. (can't change date nor timeon this Stealth cam either. He looks young to me, I hope he makes it thru the season. There's a scrape right behind him, and the camers took 2 more pics after he left. This is the only pic that I have of him. That's what I'm talking about when I talk about a slow trigger time. 30' to the scrape from the camera.
