I've got these cysts showing up in my fish. Can anyone identify them?

The pond is just under one acre, outside of New Ulm, Tx. It has the standard bass overcrowding problem, and I plan on doing the thinning of the existing bass and stocking bgill shortly (other problems are taking precedence, most notably trees growing on the dam).

These cysts look a lot like grubs we have in fish here in Ohio. If that's whatit is they are harmless. If you want to help eradicate your problem, think about stocking some redears along with your bluegill. They feed on snails that are parasitic hosts for these grubs. No snails, no grubs!!!!!

Jes,

Copy and past this site. It explains everything you want to know about them.

They are harmless especially if you if you cook your fish fully, but I usually cut them out.

Cecil

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.
