I've rebuilt an old pond which filled in May. Every time it rains, we have high water along the shoreline for about a week. As the water recedes, I notice numerous dead crawfish. It does not look like a predator problem, as the crawfish are intact. Our watershed is a combination of no-till cropland and prairie grass. Could it be the herbicides? Any ideas? Mark

Are you sure the crayfish are dead, or are you just seeing the exoskeleton left from molting?
