Seems like I have read this on here before, but, when do you stop feeding the fishes in the fall? When the water gets to 55 degrees?

What exactly are you feeding?

My BG shutdown just under 60 deg F, LMB and CC a little lower. This year I get to find ou when YP will stop.

IIRC, feeding a lot of food/frequently below 50 can be a bad idea, due to the length of time digestion takes with lower metabolism.

They are getting Aquamax 600. Maybe I once read when the water gets below 65 degrees.

If you stop feeding at 65 degrees you'll miss a lot of good feeding days the fish could be growing.

BG , LMB , and CC metabolism slows greatly at 55. They will still eat but not a lot or often. HSB is somewhat lower down to about 45 IIRC. YP will feed down to mid 30s. Rapid temp changes can effect feeding a lot more and fish will pick up feeding some on warm spans during winter (if no ice cover ). Also there is some local adaptation to populations.

That is what I do also. I don't monitor temps often. Sometimes feed all winter if they feed activity. Good common sense answer Tom. FWIW the fish will often feed in late fall on one pond and not at all on the other ponds.

I'm around 70 Deg and my cats have shut down for the last week..not sure what's going on but they did this in the spring as well, possibly around the same temp. They eventually went back to eating. I feed AM 500/600. I feed until they quit eating too

They will stop for a period if you got a cold snap. Tom's advice is what I tell clients. "let the fish tell you what to do". When they slow you slow.
