Bought some 2-3" native bluegill from Bob Lusk back in April. 2" is generous and 3" were VERY few and far between. But I assure you this is no complaint. Having never really stocked fish before I am absolutely amazed at the growth rate of these little guys. Some of them are at least 6" long now, and fat and sassy. They're building and guarding spawning beds and are for the time being, the kings of the pond. I had no idea these fish would grow so fast.
My Dad started throwing out hand fulls of food to them when he's at the pond and within two times they've attached themselves to him like pets. They follow him all around the pond in a huge school. They hear or see him coming are waiting for him at the bank. Just shows you how aware fish are of what is going on outside the water at all times and why you have to be sneaky when you fish for them.
