Boy did I blow it.My wife stopped by to say hi on her way home from work. :)I was in front of the shop doing some trimming with my handy Echo weedeater. :(Now she needs a new back window. Yep,she's pretty P.O.ed.I hate blowing the beer money for the weekend before it gets here.

One one hand, Tom, you tend to make me look good. OTOH, I'm so close to your level of husbandry that Fish Wife really appreciates taking lessons from Mrs. Goodenough on spouse management.

I've just completed the exit interview with TOM G on the phone, and as always, there's more information there.

Turns out that TOM G outfitted his weed whacker with metal blades. TOM G seems to operate his weed whacker to the specification of needing to be able to cut down a 2" diameter tree at ground level to which he falls back on retooling the weed whacker with carbide tip blades.

As he's out $450.00 now, we've decided to allow him to remain working.

What brand and model weed whacker do you have? Theo said he made a mistake when he bought ours. He says that he accidentally bought a "lady's model weed whacker" and that if a guy uses it, he will become impotent and bald. I'd like to trade mine in for whatever model it is that you have, because it sounds like a real manly man weed whacker.

What's wrong with letting Theo go impotent and bald? I mean, he's half way there already, right?

I just blowed my bosses paddle boat money she saved for her and the grand kids on this manily weed wacker. She hasn't spoken with me sense I brought it home. I keep saying but, but baby listen, but honey I needed it.... She just turns her head and walks away. It didn't help when I made the first pass thru the garden and it has about a 50 % cut rate. It defenatly needs a tune up but I dare ask her for the repair funds any time soon.

Does she own any cast iron skillets? If so, be careful. I must be allergic to them. They make my vision blurry and my ears bleed something awful. Don't say you weren't warned.

There is only one way to deal with unmanly power tools. Terminate with extreme prejudice. Here at the GSA we have our own methods of dealing with low performance power tools as evidenced in our instructional video Weedwacker Death.

Now if you'll excuse me I need to have a "conversation" with the chainsaw.

OK, my turn in the barrel.

I bought a zero turn 42" cut lawnmower. Neat! Then I hit one lousy little stump and thought I only busted a belt. So, I bought a $60.00 belt and installed it. No problem. So, I fired up the mower and it sounded terrible. That's when I discovered that I had also busted the spindle that holds one of the blades. It is pressed on and after about an hour of trying to "unpress" it, I gave up and hauled it to the shop. The part is $85.00 and labor is $60.00 per hour. They are running 4 weeks behind on fixing stuff. I also found out that shear pins are a thing of the past.

I'm getting "the look".

I told my child bride that I have figured out how to modify my overpriced ECHO weedeater to use bicycle chain instead of plastic string. That didn't get all that far.

I bought a set of stainless swing blades for my weed wacker. My nephew was using it and one of the blades came off, hitting his foot. It cut thru the gym shoe, but not the sock. His toe was a pretty purple, yellow and blue for a while! As soon as the blade came off it self destructed the head as well, so I had to buy a whole new lower assy. Royobi 4-stroke, it sounds like a mini-harley!

There was a guy who used to cut my grass and from time to time, he'd have his teenage daughter help him.

First time I saw here, she had on tennis shoes. I told dude that if he wanted here to help, she needes steel toe boots just like the ones he wore.

A few weeks later, I saw the daughter again with the same tennis shoes on.

I had to tell the guy I couldn't use him anymore as I could not stand to see the girl get hurt.

BTW, if you buy a rechargeable battery operated Black and Decker weedeater, they are supposed to automatically feed the cord. They don't. So, I did it myself and got too much cord out. It burned up the motor. Never again.

We had aluminum blades for a while, until they were no longer available. The last 2-3 years, we have been using plastic blades with stainless steel tips. They have a lot less inertia when they come flying off and don't bruise your ankles through your boots - just sting a little.

Maybe, but the girl was a minor, so no-go there.
