I have an old vertical shaft windmill aerator sitting around, left over from a previous pond experience. You know the type, it floats on top of the water and drives a propeller (more like a lawnmower blade) that turns just below the surface of the water. I recently bought a used 15 acres pond with no aeration. Other than possibly keeping a hole in the ice in the winter, will this thing do any good there? One thought I had, was to set it on the bank, and adapt it to run a small compressor, though I'd have to do some testing to see if it has enough power.
