Greg and Todd, I know how busy each of you are and I have restrained from asking questins about feed settings on my Texas Hunter feeder.
As much as I like the feed pattern and reliability, I cannot set the the timer to produce the amount of feed for a ten second feed.
The TH rep says 1.5 for ten seconds - no way on my feeder. I set my feeder for 10 seconds for 2 a day feed which should be 30#'s per 10 days - I haven't used 30#'s in a month.
I can set the timer for a 20 second test and it still throws the same amount of feed.
Should I just set it for daly multiple 10 second feedings until it feeds required amount of feed.
I'll experiment some more today but I'm getting tired fooling with it.

Hmm have you opened the side panel to see if it is working properly (yet to find an isue with one). Have you tested battery to see if fully charged? Honestly I do not have one running here onsite so I can not go and play with settings. I feel confident if I set one though for 10 secs it would easily throw 1.5 lbs of feed. I got one downstairs assembled. Im headed out of town fro 5 days but when I get back I will try to setup on trout pond and see what I get
Ideally I like more feedings anyway for bluegill and hybrids. I just shy away from eary morning feeding until it warms up some more.
Good luck.

George, are you using GFC or AM 600?
My feeder works great with both, but it throws much less 600 for the same time interval than with the smaller feeds.

Greg, the feeder seems to be working properly - it may be a timer problem?

George,
My feeder is very slow with 600 too-throws it in a great pattern, and very far, but I have mine set at 10, 8, and 12 seconds right now and it's used about a third of a bag in three weeks. The AM 600 is at the top of the sizes the feeder can handle-the Silver Cup 9.5mm pellets I tried in mine simply wouldn't fit from the bin to the throwing mechanism, and they're only a fraction bigger than the 600-they're almost identical in hand.
That said, I've never had a jam in the TH when using 600, just had to set the timer for a longer time. My Aquapro jammed regularly when I used 600 in it.

(800) 969-3337 We appreciate your business! Chris Thanks THP, I couldn't do much experimenting this morning with misty rain and falling temps so upped my feed time to 20 seconds twice a day using AQMX 600. I tested with 20 second time this morning and a WAG is that it fed about the same amount that my old Stren/AquaPro feeds AQMX in 2 seconds @.7 sec. I'll return to ponds next week and it should be obvious as to much feed reduced in bin. By your estimate of 1.5#'s per 10 seconds should be 6#'s/day, or down by 30#'s by Tuesday. I'll call you on site if I can get a signal on cell phone. The feeder appepars to be is operating properly and I love the feed pattern. Could it be a timer problem?

Yolk, It is my belief that TH feed time of 10 seconds of AQMX 600, is roughly equivalent to Stren/AquaPro feed time of 1 second per .75 lb per second. Doing fuzzy math it appears that you are feeding AQMX 600 at about the same rate I am – about .75#/10 seconds compared to TH rep’s 1.5 #/10 second. I’ll call Chris at TH when I have a chance - I really like the TH feeder but don’t like to have to guess at feed amounts when season of maximum fish grown is anticipated.

Just checked my Texas Hunter feeder after and my hopper was empty - don't know when it ran out since 7 days ago had some WAG 20-30#'s in the hopper. Had it set at 20 seconds twice a day which would be 6#"s per TH 1.5 lbs/10 seconds. I'm going to guesstimate for my convenience about 1#/10 seconds, and readjust as needed. The "problem" with my TH feeder was of my own negligence. I left feed in the hopper last fall/early winter after fish kill, and began feeding off and on through winter but feed was erratic so just left it off until a few weeks ago. When I turned it back on it would not feed at all - then only sporadically, and now turned it om for constant large feeding cycles, it works perfectly. The lesson learned again is don't leave feede in hopper for long periods of time, for humidity and cold weather will cause problems with any feeder. They all need to be maintained. I love my Texas Hunter feeder - great feed pattern and doesn't dump feed on the ground.

Hi George, thanks for the follow-up. By the way...I had a great visit with Nate Herman this week at a meeting we had in Chicago - we were discussing your feeder. I'm glad to see that its working well for you and that you love the feed pattern. We appreciate your business. Feel free to call me directly anytime, with any questions you may have (800) 969-3337. Thank you, Chris
