Pond Boss Forums GENERAL QUESTIONS Water chemistry pH testing question

I used my handy little pH meter on my pond water today. No temps, but the meter said 9.8pH at 11:00am and 9.5pH at 3:00pm at the same location. Other areas measured within a range of 8.5-9.8pH. Is this good or bad? I know I need to send a sample out, but this was immediate partial info. My pond bottom mud was ~7.5pH as well as most of the soils directly around the pond. Forgot, secchi disk measured 22" and there is a good algae bloom going on.
