How would a person go about finding the addresses of athletes? Someone said you could contact them at their traing facility. But this does not work very good. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey, deaner.
Maybe contact through their sports/business management?
2nd guess would be by team PR offices.

GOOGLE
Find out the city they live in, and then search the local paper or court house for tax records, building permits, etc.

Some of them have web sites.
In Dog Beers, I've had one.

This is a very interesting question. Do you mind sharing with us why you want their addresses?
I have an acquaintence who has quite a "single autograph" baseball collection. He is in his 60s and has been collecting them since he was a teenager. He told me that he sends new baseballs to the Hall Of Fame with a request the ball and some cash he includes with a prepaid return envelop and asks the hall to forward the ball to a player he is wanting an autograph from. He says he gets a very high percent return rate.

When I was younger, I read a book about Shaquille O'Neal, and in the back it had an address for him. I figured it could not hurt so I wrote him a letter and asked for an autograph. It was when he was moving to a new house, and the letter got lost. However a few months later, his mother of all people called and my mom answered (forgot how his mom got my number?) and said she was sorry the letter got lost and the two moms chatted for about thirty mins about w/e moms talk about, a week later a care package came with an autographed photo and other items.
Deaner, I know this does not help your cause, but your post reminded me of it. The moral to the story is famous people are people too, and really nice! (at least some of them)

The thing that always hits me when something of this nature pops up that the people would be harrassed. This is not the case and it is a business venture that probably most athletes would not qualify or be interested. At this time I do not want to release all the information as it would not be good for my presentation. To inform you a little I am in contact with a baseball players lady that goes along with this program. I would like to contact other ball players and movie stars but it is difficult. Most of their offices and managers will not pass letters on to those they represent. It is all for a good cause and as usual no financial gain will stop in my hands. I may go for uniform parts and such also to auction off for benefits for others. This should give you an idea of what it is all about. Addresess of these people e mailed would be appreciated as I do not desire to tie up a forum. thanks to all

The year was 1967, or 68(?) my Aunt took me to the Detroit Tigers game for my 12th or 13th birthday, a day I would never forget as Denny McClain won his 30th game that day. Fast forward 40 years, got to meet him at a book signing (he was out of jail at the time) and he autographed his book for us, and talked to us with Eli Zarat for about an hour, we asked, he answered. Would anyone want a Detroit Lion's address? Come on, you got to feel sorry for us up here - hope they go all the way, 0-16!
