I'm starting a bait business selling BSF larvae (maggots). I have a nice batch ready and I would like to give samples away at a popular boat ramp on the Ochlocknee river this weekend. Can anyone suggest a good time slot to be there? I figure I'm good for about 3 hours.

There is no special time to send me free bait. Send it anytime and sent it often.

If pigs could fly bacon would be harder to come by and there would be a lot of damaged trees.

Heck Cecil, I'd be happy to send you some. All I need is an address. I'm curious to see if they work just as well on those cagey nawthen fish. \:\)

GW,
I would guess that morning would be the best time. You would probably catch the most die-hards that way. Maybe between 6-9 am, or 7-10 am?

Thanks bbjr, I was wondering if church would make Sunday morning quiet at the river.

I don't know if it matters after all, I just realized the river is flooded still.

Thanks for the generous offer but I was just kidding. I don't actually fish much anymore on local lakes. Too crowded and too many jet skies.

Good point. Could you do it next Saturday?

Saturdays are probably the best mornings, but by next week this batch of larvae will be past the stage of being good bait. I was wondering if the holiday tomorrow might give me an opportunity similar to a Saturday.

Who owns operates the local boat launch?
When I was in southern IL. I thought of raising bait and selling it at the local launch ramps, but most of the lakes were federal or state (or both) and they didn't look kindly at solicitation of any kind on their grounds.

If private are you stepping on anyone else's business?

Just something to keep in mind.

I'd suggest looking into the closet gas station/liquor store near the launching ramp and talk to the manager about setting up shop there.

Thanks Matt, I'm guessing it's state property (FL). It's extremely minimal having no concrete, fences, etc. I don't even think there's a sign there. It's located under a bridge and I have doubts that it's an official ramp. It looks more like an access road for bridge maintenance. It might sound odd, but things can be pretty casual in the south. \:\)

Sometimes there are more than a dozen vehicles there. I'll do some research about it soon.
