Thanks guy. We are really proud of our pond.
We received our FH this afternoon. The experience was stressful yet fun. All the FH were active and alive when we opened the box. My son floated the bag but after 10 mins. they appeared distressed and started turning belly up. He cut the bag and released them. At first many looked like they weren't going to make it and I started counting the ones that appeared dead but was amazed when they seemed to come alive. We did lose some but really expected to lose more as the weather has been really hot.
The turtles had a nice meal cleaning up the died FH.

Here is a close up. Do you think fish can go thru the holes.

Boy, that it is one nice pond package j-s.
It looks like alot of dam based on percentage of the overall perimeter. Slick!

Would the expanded metal fence be considered your primary spillway?

The fence is to keep the fish from escaping when we have a heavy rain. My husband put it behind the spillway so he can mow and clean the trash that may build up.

Thought I'd share a picture of the two canoes my husband built.

Wow, that's nice work. I'll take the one with the trolling motor.

WOW, Hubby is a craftsman.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Wow, those canoes are beautiful. Does your husband sell them or is that just a hobby?

Just a hobby. He also built our home. He did have help with the roof. Home was built from pay check to pay check. He started in the mid to late 80's and just finished it last year. A long project for sure but we did remodel during that time.
Brettski, I will post on Human Habitat Thread shortly.

Hi guys: WOW!!!!!! Great looking canoes. That really is an art and requires way more attention to detail than I would have. OK! This is "my final answer" for stocking my new pond this Oct. It is about .75 A. the ph holds at about 7.3-8.5 and acidity is in line. Structure is in place. Here goes: 100 3-5" BG, 100 3-5" hybrid sun fish, 150 RE, and about 10 lbs. of FHM (400 avg per lb). I want to let my BG/RES & HBG get one full spawn under their belt before I add and LMB/HSB and an occasional CC to the mix. The 10 lbs of FHM should provide plenty of forage fish by the time I add my Bass in Sept. of next year. I'm trying to find some papershell crawdads to add , but not been successful. Guys, am I on target? I plan to feed these fish throughout the fall/winter. Any other suggestions?? Again, thanks for all the help in the past. I'm really getting "juiced" about my little ole pond. Grandkids should have plenty of fun catching some quality BG in the years to come.

OK, if that's your final answer, I won't recommend more BG and no HBG.

OKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!! (chuckle) Point well taken. More BG and NO HBG. Boy, I'm so new at this that I can be swayed by the gentlest of breezes. Just want to get it as right as possible the first time. I'm convienced that the water is the main thing. Get "it" right and the fish take care of themselves, if stocked properly. I'm a sponge, guys, open to all suggestions. Thanks for our help. Jim

You're a fast learner. This is the backbone of all pondmeistering (or "fish"meistering)
