There's a creek behind my house that has a few lilly pads in it. I want to transport them to my lakes. After I dig them up how should plant them?

I planted them in clay soil and in pots, the clay doesn't float away and the plant gets it's food from the water. I might look into a dip of some kind, salt water?, to rid any parasites, I picked up leeches from a batch I planted.
1/4 & 3/4 acre ponds. A thousand miles from no where and there is no place I want to be...

Hi Rossbow... I've got mine just planted in gravel (both pea gravel and 2-3" rock). Believe it or not, they don't need dirt. You can put them in pots or plant directly in the ground. Pots can make it easier and they won't spread.

How far do you want them to spread?
It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.
