We have an Aerobic type septic system that uses three underground tanks: 1 solids, 2 aeration, 3 holding/discharge. The accumulated water is sprayed out on the lawn via 3 sprinkler heads. My question is, since this water is allowed to spray on the grass, pets, near your home, etc....would this water hurt a 3/4 acre pond if it were diverted to it? We lose a lot of water through evaporation and wind, so to offset the water-well running, I was considering using this source.

I have read on this forum about ponds that lie below cattle and chicken farms that have fertile ponds and good fish, and that is basically untreated waste water. This water is supposed to be non-harmful. Would it add any useful nutrients ?

Thoughts/concerns ?

Thanks,
Darryl

In the interest of preserving the decorum and classy nature of this forum I will resist posing my thoughts.

Just keep the above concept in mind the next time you buy tilapia fillets from Walmart.
