I put my orginal stocking of CNBG in Jan. 2007. They are anywhere between 6" and 7"'s long but not very thick. When do they put mass on?


brand new, never before used 1/4 acre pond.

That would depend on food supply. Hungry BG will stay kinda thin. Feeding pellets or enhanced natural food supply (by reduced numbers) will beef them up, really pretty quick. I would expect to see heavy BG by the end of the season if they have plenty to eat.

IME some ne'er-do-wells will stay skinny no matter what. Cull them.

Im feeding Aquamax 600 for my HSB and my CNBG are killing it and getting fat! We caught some over the weekend and they look like there about 2 pop! Im fixing to get some pictures of them and post them by the end of the week.

I feed my CNBG but not on a regular basis. I need to get out there everyday and feed....
