Hello! Barnes here. I own 5 acres adjacent to 100 acres of wetland in Western Washington State. Interested in finding out about building a 1/2 -1 acre pond. Any good resources out here? DDES is not very helpful. Thanks.
Great site! -Barnes

Geez! Thanks a lot for the quick reply. I've been waiting a long dang time for you to give me a response. Are you mocking me in some way? I sit around for five years after asking a simple question and finally somebody comes up with this??? At first I thought this forum would be friendly--you know, a good place to make acquaintances and gather information. But NO! While you guys become knowledgable on every imaginable subject you make me sit here like a fool waiting for an answer to a simple question. I could have started on my pond years ago if someone would have just had the simple courtesy to answer. Well, just so you know, I've found another hobby and another forum. My hobby is going to the bottom of abandoned wells, then deploying a parachute. I'll admit that it's not very exciting. No, it's NOT as exciting as building a pond would have been, but at least I have loyal friends. There's five of us in this club and we have our OWN forum. It's http://www.parachutejumpingfromthebottomofawell.org if any of you are interested in defecting from Pond Boss. Good bye, and good riddance. Ever so sincerely, Barnes

Barnes, first thing you do is get your fish, and then notify this forum and a moderator will be right over to help you build your pond - free!!! Welcome back.

Yes, always buy the fish first, then build the pond. Welcome home, Barnes. We've missed you like you couldn't imagine.

Barnes they treat every body like that. I had to start threads and answer them myself for the longest. They eventually warm up to you but watch you're back there's a lot of sharks in these ponds. Bruce is well known for pulling their teeth in due time of course. Here's a tip, just make up stuff about ponds like you know what your talking about. I do it all the time. They can't stand it they have to jump in and correct you. All the while they don't know their just answering a question you had. It's in their blood. If that don't work just start talking bad about BOB you'll get plenty of response. Here's the latest thing they pulled on me. I should have jumped ship too but I forgave them.

See there you guys go again making fun of me. I've decided that I will, however join your forum if you do the following:
1. Have every forum member give me one dollar. Not terribly expensive for you, because I am extremely smart and will contribute a lot about ponds and parachuting.
2. Have Sunil give me five dollars, because he hurts people's feelings a lot and this would be more appropriate.
I'll give you six hours for your response.

Animals is a poor chap who had the prior record for receiving abuse before Mr. Barnes(1) was resurrected. Of course, Animals was actually present for much of that. He was last seen raising chickens in a toaster oven.

Animals is my Grandmother. She has also raised several generations of Asian carp in his/her bathtub.

Here's a good read for our good friend "animals." Poor thing. Maybe in hind sight, we were a little to rough on him? http://www.pondboss.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Main=5480&Number=50154#Post50154

Barnes1, there is no such thing as Western Washington State. It is called the Pacific Ocean.

Maybe in hind sight, we were a little to rough on him? For sure. The forum was a wild, lawless place in that pre-Moderator era. Largely, I seem to recall, due to some of the future Moderators themselves.

Honestly--I thought the parachute website would elicit a little more of a response.
As Dr. Evil would say, "Nothing?, Not even a titter?"

As Dr. Evil would say, "Nothing?, Not even a titter?" I'm sure it would have, were it not National Spelunking Skydiver Day today. The many fans of parachuting from the bottom of a mineshaft are all busy doing it right now (undoubtedly in Western Washington state).
