Is there a way I can count scales or determine if a bass is a Florida strain variety or even a F1 versus a Northern strain. Before I introduce some pure strain Floridas to shape the genetics for larger bass, I'd like to determine what I actually have. The fish were originally stocked in the late 1980's and no one can tell where the fish came from orginally. Any ideas on bass ID please??? The lake is in Southern California - not San Diego County.
