I just added Gypsum particles to my pond. Should I leave the fountain off? For how long? Can I feed my fish? If not, for how long?
Thanks for your help!

Based on previous posts, I need about 100 lb of gypsum for a 1/5 to 1/4 acre pond, 9 ft. deep. We just broadcasted 80 lb. The slight wind we have today pushed most of it to one side of the pond. Does that matter? Should we add more?

If you don't need the fountain for aeration then leave it off so the suspended solids can settle out. If you are not carrying a high capacity of fish per acre then feeding will be ok. With water temps falling the fish may not feed as much.

Chandler you are going to get a much faster response with the gypsum being spread more evenly.
