I say longer the better. Just be careful not to hit the other person if you have two people in the front of the boat.

Listo,

I prefer the 8' dip nets. I get all of my personal nets and the nets for my customers who buy my electrofishing boats from:

Mid-Lakes Corporation in Knoxville, TN. The phone number is 865-687-7341

Here is the net I recommend:
Special SH-2D Monorail hoop with 1/4" mesh x 18" deep #105 Nylon Net-Sewn in bottom- CB-3 Conn. & 1 1/4" x 8' fiberglass handle- put hoop to CB-3 with bolts

I wouldn't go over 8 ft. for safety reasons. The longer the net, the more overbalanced you could become. Staying out of the water with the generator running makes a lot sense.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

I prefer to have both a 10' and 8'. In water with low cond. good to be able to reach out quickly and grab one so times where 10' is worth having.
