Well we moved into the new house this week. Nice to reach an objective, accomplish a goal, realize a dream.
When I was a boy going to school in south Texas, that's south as in "Corpus was up north" my folks lived on a resaca, half mile long and about a eighth of a mile wide.
St Augustine grass that grew from our front door, about 100' to the water, we ate outside often, barbequeing rabbits and kid purchased in Mexico. At the time I took it all for granted, it was there every day
I guess those memories have always stuck with me because here I am again, living on the edge of a pond.
I was sitting on the balcony the first morning in the house, drinking my coffee, thinking how beautiful it was watching the sun rise and reflect on the water.
Last night I was sitting on the patio watching a big thunderhead that was the canvas for the sun set thinking it can't get any better than this when the full moon came up.
For all of you who already live pond side, I now know your pleasure. To those who aspire "keep on keeping on" it is well worth the trip, and remember I will always be there drinking a tall cold one waiting for you to join me.

1/4 & 3/4 acre ponds. A thousand miles from no where and there is no place I want to be...

That's a post that touched me deeply, Rad.

I'm glad you're living your dream. That's really all we can ask, as far as earthly desires. If I ever make it to Thailand I know I'll have a place to crash.

Peace, Brother, Peace!

I kind of feel we all have a few cold ones waiting for us at various choice locations around North America, but to hear it and know it across the globe....wonderful!

Rad, you know you have the same if ever back stateside.

I'll be heading to the country this afternoon for a weekend of planting some wheat.

However, I'm going to take a moment about sundown, Saturday evening, to sit on the edge of the water with a cold one. Hope you will all join me about 8:00 Central time to toast Rad. It just might be the best Housewarming present we can give him.

Here's to you, Rad.

It's not about the fish. It's about the pond. Take care of the pond and the fish will be fine. PB subscriber since before it was in color.

Saturday evening, 8:00 on Nova pond banks, a Bud Lite in honor of Rad's dream. Like Eddie says, its not how many ideas (dreams) you have, its how many you make happen. Way to go, Rad!

What a great post Rad. I can easily picture steam rising off your coffee while you are watching the morning sun paint your pond orange. Jeez that's a great image.

I'm one one those that is in mid-dream phase. I have the land, have the pond, but the house isn't built yet. I have a travel trailer up on the property and visit it once a month. The purchase of our property is the beginning of a family dream.

On the 21st, when I am back on my property, I will raise a glass and toast, to all of us pursuing and living a dream.

Cheers!

I enjoyed a bigee sized ice tea at the appointed time and location after a day of renewing my acquaintance with a shovel , gravel , wheel barrow and quickcrete (road work) and reworking a feeder stand. To tired for any thing stronger than tea or Gatorade.
