Hello to all. I am wondering what I could put in my 4 acre pond to provide my bass with some good ambush places so they can grow grow grow. I have lots of cedars on the property but from what I have read those are primarily for the baitfish to hide. I seem to have plenty of baitfish and lots of bluegill but I am trying to give the bass a little edge. I know I could just start putting big stumps in along the shoreline but that seems a little back breaking to me just wanted to know if anyone out there had any lighter ideas.

Thanks for any help

Vince

in my lake i've used cut trees and placed them as laydowns on the edge of the bank!.. I have 4 along the back of the lake, laying in about 1 to 4 ft of water, and i catch bass of each one of them every time i fish em.

Vincent, where ever there is forage, there will be predators. When you attact and concentrate forage, you do the same for the predators. Cedars are great to do this. Do a search and you will find a huge amount of information on other ideas.

I'm using 50 gallon industrial plastic drums. They're light weight and easy to handle. You can cut large/small openings in the drum and weight it by placing gravel, etc in the bottom to sink it. It works great and doesn't decompose. I got the drums from a friend of mine that operates car washes so the drums only held liquid soap before. Good Luck!!

I have used both wood spools and pallets fashioned at tents. Both have seemed to work well. On the wood spool I have even cut holes in the middle portion and bait fish use that.
