Sometime around the end of September, I'm going to become a Great Grandfather! Heck, at 63 YOA, I'm way too young for that. I'm still a kid whose body just doesn't work quite the way it used to.
My Granddaughter and her husband are both 20 years old. She is a college student and he is in the Navy. His job is top secret but is the most prestigous job a young sailor can have and still be associated with the water. Nothing administrative. They have been best friends for life. He turned down a different opportunity because it would have kept him from marrying and he didn't want to take a chance on losing her. They are two great kids and I'm proud of them. She's not going to have a sonogram until he is there, so they can both find out, at the same time, about the babys gender. You can bet I'll be there when the big day occurs.

Congats to you. You will have another generation to teach all you know. I hope I'll have that opportunity.

You have been blessed again with the greatest gift of all - a new life. Not to mention great kids with their heads on straight ( making wise choices).

Cheers to you and your expanding family. I am only on one 10 month old daugter. I can't imagine that many branches on the tree, yet.

Great news!
Let's see, the little guy/gal would be "DD1.4"?

Dave, I'd like to add my congratulations. I'm 72 and most of my friends have great grand children. My only grand son is 10. I know I cherish the time I have with him. Hope I'm around to see a great grand child. My very best to you and your family

Bob-O, I was struttin until the here and now hit me.
I have 6 Grandchildren and they are expensive little rascals. My 3 daughters had stopped popping them out and I thought everything was under control.
Now, the next generation is getting started and I can envision a vacuum cleaner attached to my checkbook. Luckily, the next oldest is only 13.

Dave worries: Now, the next generation is getting started and I can envision a vacuum cleaner attached to my checkbook. ...Oreck makes a very lite model that is Senior-friendly. I've seen it pick up a 16# bowling ball...a checkbook should be cake. :p

You need a big check book to buy an Oreck.

A guy with 6 Grandkids and a GGchild on the way needs a really, really big paycheck.

I know, Dave. I've got 5, 1 on the way and a very generous wife(to them). I love to see 'em, but it always cost a couple hundred. Their parents are masters at forgetting to send shoes, clothes that fit, etc. Oh, well, it's better than being retired on the Riviera(especially the French).

DD1, " I was strutin till the here and now hit me". Well Dave, I don't think it hit ya real square. Just ta keep yer spirits up, do the math. You'll be 63 when he/she is born, probably be bout 82 or83 when he/she is fecundin. That's DD1 F5. If ya get a part time job sellin Oricks now, ya can stash enough dough ta have a pond full of GG G-childs TGG. If ya manage yer pond as well as ya have yer family, ya won't have 853,374 green sunfish, despite what Robinson may say. Get savin, Bob-O
