Thanks for the complements fellas.I plan on putting in fatheads and BG this year. LMB and crappie next year. I have dozens of pallets to add for FH spawning areas. I also have hundreds of feet of plastic drain tile I can put in, in addition to the aforementioned pontoon boat.
Size wise it is about 400' long with widths varying from 75'- 150'. I guess about 1 1/2 acres. Depths at full should be up to 12-14'.
Eric,
The white stuff is sand. The soil is sandy in many places there.

Sorry Marty, bad joke on my part. I was talking about the snow in the first pic Great looking pond you have there. How long did it take to fill?

Eric,
Yea I forgot we had snow in that pic. It was filling very slowly during the winter with every thaw. Then about 2 weeks ago we had a 1 1/4" rain over a 3 day period, and that filled it up to where there was water coming into the overflow pipe. The location is in a field where a drainage ditch had filled in over time. The natural flow is from the swamps upstream to my pond. Every good rain should add some water to the pond and hopefully offset any evaporation. The only thing that gives me pause is if we get a heavy rain when already full. I don't have my rip rap installed on my spillway yet. Can't get a tractor in there yet.
