Alligator, Is your pond fed by a creek or are you relying on all rain? Looks like it will be a pretty good size when it's full.
Hey Moe, I'm trying to think but nuthin's happening!

Jersey,
It has a small creek that feeds one end of it. Recently the creek has not been flowing due to lack of rain. According to NRCS the lake is 8.5 acres. I took a stab at the watershed and think it is about 250 - 300 acres...lots of runoff. I was suprised to see how much water a 2 inch rain put in the lake.
If you look at picture #2, the lake turns back right and wraps around those dark green trees in the back of the picture. Everything in the foreground will be water.
If you cant tell from my posts - it is very exciting to see it actually start to fill up!

Your pond will be about the size mine will be, with the same amount of watershed. Can you post some pictures of your spillway - dam - pipes? Also, keep the pictures coming. Since I can't watch my own pond fill up, I would like to watch yours! :p

Russ,
The normal fill line is about 2 feet below the bottom of the dock. The emergency spillway is about 1 foot below the bottom of the dock.

Thanks Gator. Please follow up with pictures of the finished product. Not sure where in East Texas you are located but is there any chance you may be seeing some fallout from Emily? Not the destructive kind but I'm sure you'd welcome a little rain to get that pond full.

Russ, looks like we may miss the brunt of Emily here in Anderson County. Perhaps we will catch some nice showers from stray bands...

Anderson county, what towns are in it. Looks like my old stomping grounds in east central Ms. with the red clay hills. You have a beautiful place.

Burgermeister,
My place is close to a little community called Blackfoot, TX which is about halfway between Athens and Palestine. Thanks, I am trying my best to grow enuff grass to cover up that red clay!

Alligator ,
Will be great when full .
Dock is really neat and kid proof , nice job ! will be fun for the whole family .
I noticed in the photo's your water has a clay color . My water looks about the same , do you plan to add Gypsum or some other way way to help clear the water ?

Thanks harvey,
As you can see, I have enough Red Clay! Im working hard to get some grass growing on it. That picture was taken the day after a 2" rain.
I went back a few days later and the water was perfectly clear again. I put 20 tons of lime in and around my lake eariler this year. I'm sure that is helping.
