Gonna head to Lake Livingston for a week tomorrow to visit my parents and brother and do a little fishing. I was shocked at how proud the Texas Fish and Game Department is of their waters. You can come to Alabama and spend 11.00 for a 1 week license but having to spend 55.00 for a week in Texas is terrible. Oh well having vented I'm ok now but you think the Department of Tourism would do something about that.
On another note the wife heard the dogs barking this morning in their pen and looked out to see not 1 but 3 Great Blue Herons in the front yard. Didn't take her long to chase them off but it is the first time we have ever seen more than 1 at a time around the pond.

Bob, If you have the time and are interested you are welcome to come by my place. We are just a few miles north of the lake and have a weekend project going to add a 1/4 to 1/2 acre spawning bed to my larger pond. I would love to meet you and show you my ponds. Send me an e-mail for directions etc. p.s you can fish for free in my ponds  p.s.s. I'm in the Livingston phone book also
