People always dump their dogs around my property. This weekend, two, about 1 yr old black labs ran up to me when I arrived. My yellow lab knows to stay out of my casting range when I fish, so he stayed away. But this beautiful young dog has never been fishing before. The first time I pulled a fish out, his instincts woke up and he was trying to bite it. More out of curiosity and playfulness than anything else. From that moment on, every time I cast, he was watching the sinker more anctiously than I was, his legs trembling with excitement. After I released some of the fish, he would chase them into the pond, looking kind of bewildered that they disappeared. If I din't already have two yellow labs, I would love to keep him. I haven't seen anyone enjoy fishing like this in a long time.
