i have heard that extra sheet rock can be thrown in the pond to help with any leaks/"strengthen" the bottom of a pond. any comments/concerns??

i don't think i have a leak, it's holding well. i just heard that sheet rock can help seal if you have a leak, but also help reduce future problems around spillways, dams etc.... i didn't spend any money on it but figured what the heck, can't hurt (? can it?)!! thanks
